Transfer SPG Points to Marriott at 1:3 Ratio and Instant Status Match

SPG and Marriott announced exciting opportunities today based on their merger.

The gist of the merger is:
Member can transfer points from SPG to Marriott at 1:3 ratio and Marriott to SPG at 3:1 ratio.
Member can get instant hotel’s status match with both programs. Since my SPG Gold status obtained from my American Express Platinum credit card, so I now become Marriott Gold Elite status. "You’ve been upgraded! Because you are an SPG Gold member, you have been upgraded to Gold Elite status with Marriott Rewards."

This merger definitely opens to a few great perks and opportunities that these both programs bring to consumers. My SPG credit card just keeps getting better and better as each dollar spend on that card, I can either earn 1 Star Point or 3 Marriott Points.

You don't have to go to both hotels websites to link the accounts.
